The project

The Matrossov Project

Bringing a painter's work back into the light. Connecting past and present through beauty, memory and transmission.

The idea

The bearer of light

Alexei Matrossov painted for more than forty years — monumental frescoes of the Soviet era, then more intimate still lifes, portraits and landscapes. Decades of creation, long left in the shadows.

The Matrossov Project, carried by his family, gathers, archives and passes on this body of work. Our role: connecting his gaze to the present, so that his art lives on.
